SUBMISSIONS ARE DUE NO LATER THAN MIDNIGHT ON APRIL 5, 2023

 

The Tiger Band Boosters provides scholarships each year to graduating members of the AMCHS Band Program.  These merit-based scholarships are funded by donations from our community. Students are awarded scholarships based on their contribution to the band program, academic merit, development of musicianship, and leadership in the school and community.  Please note that an application does not guarantee award.

 

Applicant MUST meet ALL of the following requirements:

1. An AMCHS senior who is currently a member of the band program.

2. Be in good standing at A&M Consolidated High School and the band program with all fees paid.

3. Currently taking at least one band/color guard class and maintaining at least a B average in the class(es).

4. Regularly participate in out-of-school rehearsals, performances, auditions, assessments, etc.

5. Carry an overall minimum GPA of 2.5.

 

Application Requirements:

1. Applications are to be submitted electronically by completing the Tiger Band Booster 2023 Scholarship form no later than midnight on April 5, 2023.  Late or incomplete applications will NOT be considered.

2. ONE essay. The essay question is attached to the end of the application. The essay must be emailed to tigerbandscholarship@gmail.com titled “Essay Your Last Name” no later than midnight on April 5, 2023.

3. ONE letter of recommendation.  This letter must be emailed directly from the author to tigerbandscholarship@gmail.com.  Title the email "LOR Your Last Name". Recommendation letters MUST be emailed no later than midnight on April 5, 2023.  Letters of recommendation emailed from the applicant will NOT be accepted.

 

Tips for writing your scholarship application:

  1. Do not wait until the last minute to submit!

  2. Contact the person writing your letter of recommendation early.

  3. Select someone to write your letter of recommendation who you have worked with or has known you for a good amount of time.

  4. Follow all directions.

  5. Carefully check that all intended boxes are clicked or selected.

  6. Spell check - create a draft in Word, then copy and paste into the form if needed.

  7. Provide information with enough specificity that those less familiar with your activities will understand.

  8. Do not rush through the application and forget to include any of your band or school experiences.

  9. Have a parent or friend read your application before submitting it. 

  10. Do not wait until the last minute to submit…this is important enough to repeat!
